I can not recommend this speaker even if you got a discount. Sound: Fine. Buttons: Ok. The speaker's thickness makes pressing buttons with a single hand a bit cumbersome, but it is possible. There is no contrast for the buttons which makes visibility poor. Battery life: Depends! The speaker will deplete itself and the phone connected to it, as it does not turn itself off after inactivity. It will only turn itself off by itself when not connected. I use an old phone as a media player. I needed to create a task to turn it's bluetooth off early night, and back on early morning to have F5 to turn itself off automatically. Notifications: Terrible. The turn off sound is rising in pitch. What? Also, when the battery gets low, the speaker will make an odd beeb beeb every 10 minutes or so. Once would be ok. Every 10 minutes during the night is not pleasant. The led light does not indicate low battery well. I would much prefer seeing the battery low than hearing it. There are other issues that are not as pressing.
